Note From the Director re: Casting for the Female Rep Show Bull in a China Shop:

Much gratitude for those of you who came to audition for the next Female Rep show! Due to the fact that we were privileged to have so many wonderful people try out, I have decided to augment the production by adding an old time murder mystery radio show spot to act as both inspiration and introduction. Opening scene will now include part of a live radio murder mystery show performed in view of audience under spotlight, as the old ladies sit around their antique radio by candlelight listening and inspiration them to commit a crime. These radio personalities will also perform during various segments of the play as intro to additional characters and will share dual roles within the actual show. In this fashion I can use the talents of all and smaller cameo roles will be expanded into larger roles. Also, one role has been amplified by making the individual a set of twins. This should prove to be enormously funny. Each will have the exact same lines to memorize. Those of you who have worked with me before know that as a published playwright, I am always extremely careful and creative with any adaptations to a script. The generosity of your talents affords me this honor. This addition will allow for increased comedic relief, intrigue and set up pratfalls to the already hilarious plotline.

If your name falls within the radio personality characters, know that those segments will be done with scripts in hand, but if you have lines within the actual show they must be memorized.

Note: Rehearsal schedule for this show is very tight. Roles were awarded both by merit and by careful scrutiny of your scheduling issues. If you have not recorded a conflict, you must have it in by Monday, December 7th, 2009. Remember… someone else may have warranted further consideration for your part, but lost it due to their conflicts.
